Accessing Security and Authentication

To access security settings and manage authentication options, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open Settings:

    Open the Synkli app and navigate to the settings menu.

Step 2: Go to Security and Authentication:

    In the settings menu, find and select Security and Authentication.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    You will see two options:
    Change Password
    2FA Setup

Change Password

To change your existing password, follow these steps:

Step 1: Select Change Password:

    In the Security and Authentication menu, tap on Change Password.

Step 2: Authorise Change Password Request:

  • tick-icon-for-li
    You will be prompted to authorise the password change with a six-digit code sent to your account email.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Tap the Send button to receive the code.

Step 3: Verify Email Code:

    Check your email for the six-digit code.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Enter the code in the designated field on the Synkli app screen.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Tap the Confirm button.

Step 4: Change Password:

    You will be redirected to the Change Password screen.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Enter the following details:

    -> Old Password
    -> New Password
    -> Confirm Password
  • tick-icon-for-li
    After entering the required information, tap the Reset button.

Step 5: Confirmation:

    Upon successful password change, you will be redirected to a Congratulations screen.

    This confirms that your password change request has been completed successfully

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Setup Guide

To change your existing 2FA Setup go to the option available in the above stated menu.

Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication


To set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to enhance the security of your account. Follow these steps to complete the setup:

Email Verification


Step 1: Initiate Email Verification:

    On the 2FA main screen, tap the Set Up button next to the Email Verification option.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    The email address you used to create your account will be displayed. You can either use this email address or provide a different one specifically for 2FA.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Enter the desired email address and tap the Send button to receive a verification code.

Step 2: Verify the Email Address:

    Check your email for a message containing the six-digit verification code.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Enter the verification code in the designated field on the Synkli app screen.

    Tap the Verify button.

Step 3:Confirmation:

    Upon successful verification, you will be redirected to a Congratulations screen.

    Tap the Continue button to return to the main 2FA screen.

Google Authenticator


Step 1: Initiate Google Authenticator Setup:

    On the 2FA main screen, tap the Set Up button next to the Google Authenticator option.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Follow the on-screen instructions and tap the Next button at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Configure Google Authenticator:

    A screen will appear showing a QR code and a key. Tap the Copy Key button below the QR code to copy the key.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Open the Google Authenticator app on your mobile phone.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Tap the + icon and select Enter a setup key.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Enter an account name and paste the copied key into the designated field.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Tap Add to complete the setup in the Google Authenticator app.

Step 3: Verify Google Authenticator:

    The Google Authenticator app will display a temporary code.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Copy this code and return to the Synkli app.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Paste the code into the designated field and tap the Enable button.

Step 4: Confirmation:

    Upon successful verification, you will be redirected to a Congratulations screen.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Tap the Proceed button to continue.

Step 5: Backup Codes:

    The app will display your backup codes. Download or copy these codes and store them securely.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    These codes are essential if you lose access to your Google Authenticator app and need an alternative sign-in method.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Tap the Next button to complete the setup.

Face ID / Touch ID


Step 1: Initiate Face ID / Touch ID Setup:

    On the 2FA main screen, tap the Set Up button next to the Face ID (for iPhone) or Touch ID (for Android) option.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Follow the on-screen instructions and tap the Next button.

Step 2: Configure Face ID / Touch ID:

    Complete the Face ID or Touch ID setup as per your device's instructions.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    You will be asked to set a four-digit pass-code as a backup method in case Face ID or Touch ID fails.

Step 3: Confirmation:

    Upon successful configuration, you will be redirected to a Congratulations screen.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Tap the Finish button to complete the 2FA setup process.

Disabling 2FA


If you need to disable any of the enabled 2FA methods on your account, follow these steps

Step 1: Access 2FA Settings:

    Open the Synkli app and navigate to the settings menu.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Find and select the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) option to access your 2FA settings.

Step 2: Disable 2FA Method:

  • tick-icon-for-li
    In the 2FA settings screen, locate the 2FA method you want to disable (Email Verification, Google Authenticator, Face ID/Touch ID).
  • tick-icon-for-li
    Toggle the switch button next to the desired 2FA option to disable it.
  • tick-icon-for-li
    The 2FA method will be disabled instantly.

Important Note

Security Requirement: For security reasons, you must keep at least one 2FA method enabled (either Email Verification or Google Authenticator). You cannot disable both of these 2FA methods simultaneously.
